Growing up on the Pipeline

Mundaring and Hills Historical Society is holding its first General Meeting of the year on Saturday the 18th March at 2pm. The meeting will be followed by a talk about growing up on the Pipeline at Mundaring Weir. This talk is to be presented by long time Mundaring Weir resident - Bill Cutler. So much activity at the Weir in the 1950s, it was an exciting place to grow up.

1907 Postcard

Times were tough for the families of workers at the Weir. Tent living during Summer and Winter months was quite an ordeal and the men were very lucky to have the support of families while the Weir wall was being raised.

In 1932 Hikers used to walk from the Kalamunda Zig Zag then catch train back to Perth
