The Year of the Horse is one of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac. It symbolises energy, independence, and determination. Traditionally, people born in this year are thought to be confident, hardworking, and freedom-loving, and the year itself is often seen as a time of movement, ambition, and bold action. We thought we would look in our collection for interesting photographs featuring horses.
Many families in the hills will be involved with horses, joining groups such as Pony Club, Adult Riding or Riding for the Disabled.
We have in fact 74 photographs including horses and could always have more. Also, if you look on our website under the heading Past Exhibitions you can see wonderful images of various aspects of working horses in the exhibition Hoofprints in the Hills, which was opened in February 2018.
