Vale Ian Elliot

In memory of Ian Elliot, author of Mundaring A History of the Shire - who passed away peacefully last Tuesday, June 16 2026, aged 82 years. Ian's contribution to the history of the Shire is immense - his book is the original and the best authority on the history of all the Mundaring townsites.

Ian was one of the founding members of the MHHS, a wonderful historian and author of Moondyne Joe: the Man and the Myth as well as the afore-mentioned Mundaring: A History of the Shire. Ian lived his life in Glen Forrest. Ian will be sadly missed by all who knew him. RIP
