Parrot Pie Anyone. Anyone?

With only ten more sleeps until Christmas Day, we are all preparing for the event. We have looked through our collection for Christmas-themed photos and found an interesting meal for your Christmas lunch.

An interesting website was discovered during our conversations called australianfoodtimeline.com.au in which the subject of parrot pie comes up and lead to another conversation of eating rabbit as a food during the depression.

We have few local stories of hunting and eating rabbit so it you have any stories or photographs in your family collections we would love to hear them.

Meanwhile enjoy our local and other historical photos. Click/touch image for more information.

Please note out office is closed from Saturday 20th December until Monday 19th January 2026. During

Please check out our website mundaringhistory.org when you are holed up under the air conditioning on one of the hotter days of the holidays

Merry Christmas
